Really nice new boutique hotel right behind Leicester Square but cozy and quiet. All very boho Soho, cool continental minimal white and turquoise and clean. Stay there now while it's still looking good. Pleasant staff. Not cheap but small double was good value I thought in comparison with other central hotels.

St John group so excellent bar and restaurant but expensive for many people I suspect and breakfast is not included.

The room is stylish, clean and the staff are helpful, free wi-fi connection, very good location

no kettle in the room, we have to phone the staff for hot water several times, bit too pricey

The hotel is centrally located in the heart of vibrant, always alive Soho, its few minutes away from Piccadilly Circus station. The rooms are very clean and very spacious in comparison to other rooms in London, with modern, beautiful and new furniture. I was really impressed.

    Not a single glitch

The hotel is refreshing in its minimalist decor while providing all necessary amenities in a high quality form. The bathrooms are excellent. The staff were very friendly, helpful and service oriented. For the first time in a long time I have stayed at a hotel which I would return to without any hesitation.

The St. John is a small, modern hotel right next to Leicester Square and around the corner from Piccadilly. It is perfect for the guest who doesn't want to fork out twice as much for a hotel with bells and whistles, by providing a high standard of the essential amenities that you really need - before you race out and enjoy the area! We stayed in Room 16, with a view of roof tops and the Post Office Tower. It was quiet, compact, extremely clean, and very white (apart from the green rubber floor!). The restaurant was full in the evening and quiet in the morning.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at St John London. The staff were excellent, particularly the dining room staff. The food was excellent so even if you don't stay at the hotel, the restaurant is worth a visit. The bedroom was tastefully decorated and contemporary in style. I was travelling on my own on business and only spent one night there but I've already recommended it to friends and colleagues. I look forward to returning.

Breakfast is really special. No buffet, but perfect service at your table.

Room was simple, clean and comfortable. It ticked the required boxes. Great location from the perspective of getting around in the west end.

The street noise at night was horrendous. Felt as if we hadn't slept in the morning because of the near constant cacophony which went on for most of the night. The down side of the china town location of this hotel.

the friendly atmosphere of A small boutique hotel and central london location

    relatively poor bar facilities

Good location . Excellent staff . Spotlessly clean.Although my room was small it was more than adequate for one person.

Kept awake most of the night because of what sounded like an an air conditioning unit outside of my window. Had breakfast in the hotel . I had a busy day planned that did not allow time to eat so I had breakfast in the hotel. I ordered two bacon sandwiches that were priced at £6 each on the menu when I came to pay the bill I was charged £18. I ordered tea with my breakfast and was given a tiny one cup pot. The seving staff basically disappered as there were only two customers in the restaraunt I thought the timeit took to get a refil was too long. After about eight minutes one of the men working in the kitchen brought me a second pot.

    Location and cleanliness.

Bath and shower were within the bedroom! Breakfast allowance was ambiguous, although amicably settled with hotel staff.

Ideal location for theatres and cinemas, just off Leicester Square . Plenty of pillows, towels and toiletries.

We would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Location is good, but there are plenty of other choices

We hired a suite for one night special trip in to London. This was over priced London at its worse. The hotel was bleak, cold and very unwelcoming - the staff stiff and unwelcoming. I am sure if you are in to cold green linoleum floors and attic rooms then fine. We love our tea in the morning, no kettle or tea provided, turns out you have to pay £4 per tea. Sorry to say Fergus and Trevor's vision may have been a quiet place away from busy chinatown, but c'com the hotel rooms are 3.5 star at best, but costs similar to 5 star. We both felt like we had been mislead by the description and the price being as high as it is, would have expected more.

The rooms are really nicely done and spacious for London condititions. The Penhaligon's amenities were nice too and the fact that there were three cushions to choose from. Also the location at Leicester sqare / Chinatown is very nice especially if you want to go for a massage at night.

The room was only heated to 18 degrees (bloody cold) and the airconditioning took ages until it was actually pleasantly warm (next morning). Breakfast which was included is only covered until 15 gbp which sounds a lot, but actually isn't as the breakfast menu is a la carte and beans on toast are already around 6 gbp. It was however delicious. Knowing that nice hotels in London are very expensive, I still think that the price-performance ratio is rather bad (260 gbp for a double) also given the fact that the personnel always seemed either overtaxed or underconfident.
